MY PRACTICE

Hello and welcome! Whether this is your first time seeking a therapist or you are looking for a new therapist, choosing who you discuss personal issues with is not easy, especially during times of stress. I hope you find the following information helpful in your search.

I work with residents of Massachusetts. People who come to therapy with me should expect a supportive, respectful and collaborative space in our sessions. My approach is based on the idea that everyone has the ability and wisdom to discover solutions that will best fit their life. I view my role as the therapist as being someone who collaborates alongside with you as a guide. Sessions involve listening to the issues that matter most to you, identifying your strengths, identifying your values, clarifying your goals, and increasing your motivation and confidence to pursue a life aligned with your values. We may also explore strategies that you feel are most helpful to manage the life stressors you face in order to achieve better well-being.

My therapeutic style is informed by multiple evidence-based approaches including motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based, trauma informed practice, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR).

As a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts, I have over 17 years of experience working with adult patients and their support systems in medical healthcare settings. I trained and worked for over seven years at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA with adult oncology patients and their loved ones.

You may find my therapeutic approach beneficial if you are navigating issues around:

-Adjusting to the trauma of a cancer diagnosis

-Anxiety/Worry

-Cancer survivorship

-Caregiver stress

-Communicating with children about a loved one's illness

-Coping with a cancer recurrence and treatment

-Coping with a chronic or life threatening illness

-Depression

-Grief/loss

-Relationship/Interpersonal concerns

-Low self-esteem

-Legacy work

-Occupational stress

-Sleep/Insomnia

Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions about my practice or would like to schedule a meeting.
